State retrieval beyond Bayes' retrodiction

In the context of irreversible dynamics, associating to a physical process its intuitive reverse can result be quite ambiguous task. It is standard choice define using Bayes' theorem, but, in general, this not optimal. work we explore whether it possible characterise an optimal map building from concept state retrieval maps. doing so, propose set principles that maps should satisfy. We find out Bayes inspired just one case whole class choices, which optimised give retrieving initial more precisely than rule. Our analysis has advantage naturally extending quantum regime. fact, transformations containing Petz recovery as particular case, corroborating interpretation analogue retrieval. Finally, present numerical evidences by adding single extra axiom isolate usual derived theorem.
